How is Bunking Safe?

When a Member creates a profile on the Bunking marketplace, the information they use is passed to our trust technology partner (a Master Card company) to validate their information based on a variety of factors. We also give our community Members the option to add a criminal background check to their profile for an added fee. Obtaining a criminal background check will add a verification badge to your profile and you will be able to gain access to Planned Trips that require one.

What is the difference between a Planned Trip & Trip Idea?

A Planned Trip is when the Organizer has already paid for accommodation and is eager to have a shared living experience with like-minded people. A Trip Idea is when the Organizer has an idea of where and when they’d like to book accommodations and wants to gage interest.

Can I choose who joins my Planned Trip?

Yes, you are able to set rules and characteristics of your Trip that will become restrictions for other Members to join. If your Trip is set to request to join, you will be able to review their profile and message before you accept their request.

How many people can join a Planned Trip?

The number of spots available is determined by you during the listing process. You’re able to enter the type of sleeping spaces and sleeping arrangements that BunkMates can choose from. These can range from a private space with a king bed to a shared space with multiple single beds.

What's the difference between public and private Planned Trips

Public Planned Trips are posted to the Bunking Marketplace where anyone can request to book a spot on your Trip. This includes a 10% marketplace fee and a 3% processing fee.

Private Planned Trips are not publicly available in the marketplace and can only be accessed via a shared link. These Planned Trips do not include the 10% marketplace fee and will only charge BunkMates the 3% processing fee.
